About Us
Cristina's is owned & operated by two sisters, Wendy & Cristina Willis, who are both passionate about good food and strong coffee! Menu items are driven by the availability of local in-season produce to allow utilization of the Cafe's garden and nearby farmer's markets. Eggs and meat products are sourced locally, as well as from a local coffee roaster (Lucas Roasting Company). Employee best practice waste reduction awareness is an on-going program within the cafe. *******
Both have a strong background in conservation & natural resources management, which they use to help run their business in a "green" manner. They have implemented Buy Fresh - Buy Local purchasing whenever possible for meats, produce and coffee beans used in the cafe. The beautiful surroundings of the Shenandoah Valley motivate them to do more than their fair share to insure future generations have the pleasure of enjoying the blue skies, mountain views and clear waters of theShenandoah River.
Most recently Cristina's Cafe became the first certified green restaurant in Shenadoah & Frederick counties. The unique recognition serves as confirmation that going green is a good thing for the co-owners. The certification is through the Commonwealth of Virginia's "Virginia Green" program. Cristina's is a family run establishment, watch out for Simon (our mascot & Crissy's son) as he dashes through the dining room and greets you with a menu & a smile.
Keeping it in the Family, Simon learns to cook & to make the finest espresso!
(We just know by age 5 he's going to be head chef & lead barista.)
